Congratulations to Sophie Holmes of the Datalynx – Parenesis Cycling Team on a fantastic win in the women’s race at the Lotus Cars Cycle Race League in Norfolk on Tuesday evening. Sophie put in an impressive ride, putting her renowned bike handling skills to great effect to hold a good position at the front of the race throughout. Men and women start together in these races, and Sophie actually finished 15th overall in a fast bunch finish, which is in itself an impressive feat.
We know that Sophie trains incredibly hard, so the victory was richly deserved. She is growing in both strength and experience and has made steady progress since sustaining injuries in a car accident in 2017, fighting back to full fitness courageously.
Sophie, pictured here during the Tour Series at Brooklands, is targeting a number of major women’s events during the coming months, with the National Road Race and Time Trial Championships – being held in her native Norfolk – are bound to be especially important to her. Datalynx wish her every success for the remainder of the season!
