Datalynx has again passed Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. Cyber Essentials Plus is an enhanced version of the basic Cyber Essentials certification scheme, which is a UK government-backed program that helps organisations develop their cybersecurity posture.
Cyber Essentials Plus builds upon the existing requirements of Cyber Essentials. The basic Cyber Essentials program focuses on five core controls: boundary firewalls and network segmentation, secure configuration, access control, patch management and malware protection.
The key differentiator between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus is the verification process. While Cyber Essentials relies on a self-assessment questionnaire, Cyber Essentials Plus involves an independent technical audit of the organisation’s IT systems. This audit is conducted by an accredited certification body to verify that the controls outlined in Cyber Essentials are implemented effectively.
