Test Manager (SC Cleared) – Data Migration – £45-60k DOE

A dynamic data migration consultancy based in Watford, Herts is looking for an experienced Test Manager to join our team. You will be working on large projects, leading and coordinating a team of testers as well as mentoring and guiding developers on unit tests. Our projects use Scaleable Agile Framework (SAFe) so knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, automated testing etc will be useful and you will have opportunities to develop your own skills and certification.

What are your responsibilities?
As the Test Manager for this company, you will have varied responsibilities. You will be supported in achieving these goals by a settled and very capable team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with the client’s test teams on site
  • Ensuring testing is compliant with client requirements
  • Developing testing strategies, plans and other test artefacts from start to end of a testing project
  • Selection of test tools
  • Preparing test data
  • Providing test estimates
  • Hands-on test execution and defect resolution as required
  • Specifying test environment requirements and owning the test environments
  • Planning the management of workloads and resources
  • Contributing to all stages of testing when required
  • Ensuring correct test procedures and processes are being followed and documented
  • Leading test entry, exit and defect review boards
  • Producing test progress reports and reporting testing updates to stakeholders
  • Ownership and maintenance of test RAID log
  • Maintenance and monitoring of current test tools supporting test activities (JIRA + Zephyr)

What skills should you have?
To excel in this role you will have:

Experience of managing technical testers and be specifically comfortable with reading and creating advanced SQL statements. Have proven experience of leading a successful test team within a data migration project. Strong technical knowledge & skills based on SQL Server & SQL Developer. Hands on experience of testing data models, transformations, business rules and databases throughout a data migration life cycle. Clear evidence of working successfully in an agile environment (ideally SAFe), Strong knowledge of Automation techniques and good experience working with test automation tools. ISTQB Foundation is an essential, Advanced level Test Analyst or Test Manager certification is desirable. You must be keen to learn and be proactive to work towards advanced level certifications. We are a dynamic data migration consultancy based in Watford, Herts looking to recruit a Scrum Master who also has strong project management skills to work on varied customer projects in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on significant private and public sector projects. Initially you will be working with our existing project manager/scrum master to deliver a data migration service to a large, high profile “CV defining” public sector programme.

The ideal candidate will have both scrum master skills and experience as well as project management skills.

You will be working on large projects, actively undertaking activities related to test design, data preparation and test execution as well as working collaboratively with developers on unit tests and defect resolution. Our projects use Scalable Agile Framework (SAFe) so knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, automated testing etc will be useful and you will have opportunities to develop your own skills and certification.

As a Test Analyst for this company, you will have varied responsibilities. You will be supported in achieving these goals by a test manager and a very capable team.

Your responsibilities will include:

What skills should you have?
To excel in this role you will have:

Experience of ensuring data integrity throughout the data migration life cycle and be specifically comfortable with SQL Server, SQL Developer and ODBC related functions. You will have a solid background writing SQL queries for database analysis, creating advanced SQL statements for manipulation of data and any experience with ETL testing will be highly beneficial. Hands on experience of testing data models, transformations, business rules and databases throughout a data migration life cycle. Evidence of working successfully in an agile environment (ideally SAFe) would be beneficial however traditional testers willing to adapt is acceptable. Experience raising defects and ensuring that appropriate additional testing is performed. ISTQB Foundation is essential and you must be keen to learn and be proactive to work towards advanced level certifications. SQL Server Developer/DBA – Data Migration

A dynamic data migration consultancy based in Watford, Herts is looking for an experienced and proactive SQL Server developer/DBA to to join our team. You will be working on large projects initially helping us deliver a data migration service to a large, high profile “CV defining” public sector programme. Our projects use Scalable Agile Framework (SAFe) so knowledge of SAFe and Behaviour-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, automated testing etc would be useful but not essential as training will be given. Prior experience should include developing data migration solutions, data quality and profiling, reporting and technical documentation

Existing SC (or higher) clearance is desirable otherwise the candidate must be willing to undergo vetting.
